Wedding: Kathrine and Lewis

It's been a couple of weeks since Kathrine and Lewis got married and I have been really looking forward to being able to share some of the photos!

I was able to meet up with Lewis and a couple of his friends as they prepared for the ceremony. Lewis didn't seem at all nervous, so it was quite relaxed and fun at his mum's house.

The ceremony was at St. James Church, a wonderful venue with magnificent stained glass windows. Unlike many churches, St. James is very light which makes it great to photograph without needing to use flash. That is particularly important during the ceremony as flash can be very distracting when you are trying to remember your vows!

After the ceremony it was off to the Royal Maritime Club in Portsmouth for the reception. Kathrine and Lewis really wanted some photos on the compass!

If you'd like to see more photos from the day then hit the play button below to see the slideshow. It includes music, so if you don't want to disturb anyone then turn down the volume before you start!

It was an honour to be a part of such a special day and I can't wait to deliver the final album!

Take care,

Making Sunshine

So what do you do when you want a nice sunny day but it is cold, cloudy and even raining from time to time?

This is another photo from my recent shoot with Emily. Perhaps she was being a bit optimistic bringing sunglasses, but where there is a will there is a way!

As you can see, the setup was actually very simple. Just one light with a 21cm reflector placed just to the right of camera. It was on a stand and raised just about as high as I could get it. I asked Emily to stand close to the background and then adjusted the angle of the light so it was pointing directly at her. That gave the reflection in her sunglasses and nice sharp shadows on the background.

Take care
