Though I usually photograph weddings and family portraits, from time to time I get the opportunity to work with a model on something a little different. Last weekend I was asked by Jenna to work with her to create some new headshots for her portfolio.
We spent a little time talking about some of the many options we had and very quickly decided to go for a low-key look, which was quite different to most of the other photos in her portfolio. Low-key is where the colours in the photo are predominantly dark, or even black, contrasting nicely with her fair skin.
I decided to keep everything else simple. Just one light was used for most of the shots and the only props were a chair and a dark brown throw. With no distractions, Jenna was the focus of every shot and she made the most of it with some wonderful poses.
It was a real pleasure to work with Jenna, she was creative and worked very hard throughout the shoot. I am sure she will have a very successful modelling career!
